As you prepare for your upcoming Pop Corn Ceiling Removal/ Paint project we wanted to send out a few reminders to make your project go as smoothly as possible. 

Prior to EYP arrival: 

  1. Review your contract and make any final changes with your sales representative. We will only perform what is in writing on the contract. 
  2. Final Walk Through and Project Completion Sign Off Representative’s Name, Phone Number, Email and Relationship. If not already provided please send to Tania Stafford, Tania@ExpressYourselfPaint.com, (919)396-9190 at least 72 hours prior to the start date. Please see general terms and conditions for "Project Completion" 
  3. Confirm all color information (Manufacturer, Color Name, Color Number and Sheen(eggshell or flat) if not already provided. Example: SW Agreeable Gray 7029, flat sheen) to Tania Stafford, Tania@ExpressYourselfPaint.com, (919)396-9190 at least 72 hours prior to the start date. NOTE: One coat coverage can only be obtained with high probability when using the same color and sheen as previously painted. Second coats are an additional cost and customer must agree to pay prior to application of second coat. 
  4. Removal of items in and around work area for their protection 
  • Window treatments 
  • Wall hung objects 
  • Personal valuables such as figurines, glass, crystal, china, etc. 
  • Electronics 
  • Exotic floor coverings 
  • Removal of plumbing fixtures and mounted mirrors. 

 Upon EYP’s arrival (Between 8-9 a.m.): 

  1. Perform an initial walk through to review work scope with your project Lead. 
  2. Let painters know where it is acceptable to store equipment, if necessary. 
  3. Let painters know where it is acceptable to wash out equipment. 
  4. Agree to arrival time with your project Lead for the duration of your project and entry point and access. 
  5. Go over any other items you deem important with your project lead, for example, parking. 

During your project: 

  1. Please feel free to discuss any concerns you have with your project lead. If you feel it is necessary, please call your sales representative to resolve any issues you may have. Significant changes are to be quoted and agreed upon prior to execution. 

 

At project Completion:  

  1. Perform a final walk through with the on-site Lead at project completion. Please coordinate this time with your project Lead. Tips on inspecting your project are below. 
  2. Final payment is due the day of project completion. 

Paper checks are accepted and are to be provided to the EYP representative on site. Credit/Debit card payments will incur an additional 3.5% processing fee. Pay with an online check free of charge by selecting the blue pay now button on your electronic invoice. All payments not processed on day of completion will incur a LATE FEE of .05% per day late.

How to properly inspect your popcorn ceiling removal/ interior paint project:  

  • Turn on all the lights in the room and allow natural light if it is daytime. Your project should be inspected in normal lighting conditions. 
  • Start on one side and work your way around a room. 
  • Stand at a normal distance away from the area being inspected (2-3) feet. 
  • Check for any holes, dents, paint runs, missed coverage or uneven coverage. 
  • Cut lines should be straight. Check along ceilings, walls, around trim and especially anywhere there is a color change. Those lines should be straight and smooth. Taped lines are usually only utilized on high contrast color changes. 
  • Look for paint on light fixtures, vents, flooring and other adjacent surfaces. These should all be paint free. 
  • Work area should be swept and wiped down. All construction projects create dust. We suggest utilizing the services of a professional cleaning company after a construction project. 
  • Ceiling smoothing process will affect the adjacent walls and/or crown molding. EYP will at no additional charge touch up these surfaces with customer supplied paint. EYP does not guarantee these surfaces for color match or flashing. 

Care Instructions for your new paint project.  

  • Do not wash your newly painted surfaces for at least 30 days as paint coatings normally take approximately 30 days to fully cure. 
  • Once cured, use a warm damp cloth utilizing a small amount of soap to gently wash away dirt and grime and rinse thoroughly. 
  • Do not use degreasing or harsh chemicals. 
  • Refer to the manufacturer’s care instructions for additional information.
