As you prepare for your upcoming interior painting project, we wanted to send out a few reminders to make your project go as smoothly as possible.
Prior to EYP arrival:
- Review your contract and make any final changes with your sales representative. We will only perform what is in writing in the contract.
- Final Walk Through and Project Completion Sign Off Representative’s Name, Phone Number, Email and Relationship. If not already provided, please send Schedule@ExpressYourselfPaint.com . Please see general terms and conditions for "Project Completion".
- If you have not already, confirm all color information (Manufacturer, Color Name, Color Number and Sheen (flat, low or eggshell). Example: SW Agreeable Gray 7029, flat sheen) at least 72 hours prior to the start date. All colors are to be contained in the contract you approved or submitted via the Paint Selections Form utilizing the following address: https://form.jotform.com/222087276151050 or by locating it on our web site at www.ExpressYourselfPaint.com under resources or utilizing the link in your confirmation email or email reminders. NOTE: One coat applications must be a match. Please keep in mind, it is impossible to determine with 100% reliability if a color change can be accomplished with 2 coats because there are millions of colors, substrates, and paint product combinations. Changing from or to a bright primary color such as red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, and white increases the probability of requiring a third coat. Additional coats are an additional cost, and the customer must agree to pay prior to application.
- Removal or centering of furniture and items in and around work area for their protection. Includes:
- Window treatments
- Wall hung objects (leave any bracket, nail, or screw in place if you do not require the hole to be patched)
- Personal valuables (such as figurines, glass, crystal, china, etc.) and Electronics
- Area rugs and floor coverings
- Please move as much furniture to the middle of the rooms to be painted as possible! If you cannot move an item due to size, please empty its contents!

At project Completion:

- Final payment is due upon completion of the final walk-through or upon receipt of invoice if you cannot be present.

How to properly inspect your Interior paint project:
- Turn on the light(s) in the room and allow natural light if it is daytime. Your project should be inspected under normal lighting conditions. Flashlights/spotlights are not normal lighting!
- Start on one side and work your way around a room.
- Stand (do not crawl) at a normal distance away (3-4 feet) from the surface being inspected. Check for any holes, paint runs or missed coverage.
- Cut lines should seem straight when looking straight at them (if the wall is wavy the line will be wavy). Check along ceilings, around trim or anywhere there is a color change. Taped lines are only utilized on accent walls or on top of baseboards.
- Check for paint on plugs, light switches, tile, flooring, and other adjacent surfaces.
- Work area should be “broom clean”. All construction projects create dust. We suggest utilizing the services of a professional cleaning company after a project.
Care Instructions for your new paint project.
- Do not wash your newly painted surfaces for at least 30 days! Latex paint coatings normally take approximately 30 days to fully cure.
- Once cured, use a warm damp cloth utilizing a small amount of soap to gently wash away dirt, or grime, and then rinse thoroughly.
- Never use degreaser or harsh chemicals, such as bleach, ammonia etc.
- Refer to the coating manufacturer’s care instructions for additional information.
