As you prepare for your upcoming exterior painting project, we wanted to send out a few reminders to make your project go as smoothly as possible.
Prior to EYP arrival:
- Review your contract and make any final changes with your sales representative.
- Final Walk Through and Project Completion Sign Off Representative’s Name, Phone Number, Email and Relationship. If not already provided, please send to Schedule@ExpressYourselfPaint.com. Please see general terms and conditions for "Project Completion”
- One Coat contracts must be a color match. If you are changing colors and have 2 coats specified in your contract provide the information in item 4.
For Example:
Siding - 1 coat would be a color and sheen match
Siding - 2 coats requires the color information in item 4 below
- Confirm all color information (Manufacturer, Color Number, Color Name and Sheen for example: SW 6198 Sensible Hue, Eggshell Sheen at least 72 hours prior to the start date. All colors are to be contained in the contract you approved or submitted via the Paint Selections Form utilizing the following address: https://form.jotform.com/222087276151050 or by locating it on our web site at www.ExpressYourselfPaint.com under resources, utilizing the link in your confirmation email or email reminders. Bright colors such as: reds, yellows, and some whites may require more than 2 coats for proper coverage. Additional coats are an additional cost, and the customer must agree to pay prior to application.
- Secure approval from HOA for any color changes.
- Removal of items in and around work area for their protection.
- Removal of objects mounted to the home (such as flags, wind chimes, etc)
- Removal of personal valuables such as figurines, outdoor electronics, furniture, etc.
- Removal of vegetation to a one-foot clearance. EYP will be as careful as possible around your landscaping.
- Position vehicles 200 feet away from home.
- Make sure all windows and doors are securely closed for washing. Doors and windows should be unlocked if they are being painted.
Upon EYP’s arrival:
- Perform an initial walk through to review work scope with your project Lead.
- Let painters know where it is acceptable to store equipment, if necessary.
- Let painters know where it is acceptable to wash out equipment.
- Agree to arrival time with your project Lead for the duration of your project.
- Go over any other items you deem important with your project lead, for example, parking and bathroom use.
During your project:
- Please discuss any concerns you have directly with your project lead. If you feel it is necessary, please call your sales representative to resolve any issues you may have. Work order changes are to be quoted and agreed upon prior to execution.
- Due to chemicals used during power washing procedure, windows will be prone to streaking and may require cleaning.
- Ladders are required to complete your project and are very heavy and take multiple trained painters to manipulate. Ladders must be properly placed for safety purposes. Minor damage may be incurred to landscaping.
At project Completion:
- Perform a final walk through with the lead technician. Please coordinate this time with your project Lead. Tips on inspecting your project are below.
- Final payment is due upon completion of the final walk-through or upon receipt of invoice if you cannot be present. 
Paper checks are accepted and are to be provided to the EYP representative on site. Credit/Debit card and GreenSky payments will void your cash discount. Pay with an online check free of charge by selecting the blue pay now button on your electronic invoice.
Please refer to your contract for specific information on your project.
How to properly inspect your exterior paint project: 
- Your project should be inspected in normal lighting conditions.
- Start on one side and work your way around the home.
- Stand at a normal distance away (5-10 feet) from the surface being inspected.
- Check for any holes, paint runs, missed or uneven coverage.
- Look for paint on adjacent surfaces, such as corners, windows, etc.
Care Instructions for your new paint project.
- Do not wash for 30 days to allow for the paint to fully cure.
- Do not use degreasing or harsh chemicals. Only use solutions recommended by a professional.
- Refer to the manufacturer’s care instructions for additional information.
