How to properly inspect your cabinet paint project:

  • Turn on all the lights in the room and allow natural light if it is daytime. Your project should be inspected in normal lighting conditions. Flashlights/spotlights are not normal lighting!
  • Start on one side and work your way around a room.
  • Stand at a normal distance away (3-4 feet) from the surface being inspected.
  • Check for any holes, paint runs, missed or uneven coverage.
  • Cut lines should seem straight when looking straight at them (if the wall is wavy the line will be wavy). Check along ceilings, around trim or anywhere there is a color change.
  • Look for paint on plugs, light switches, tile, flooring, and other adjacent surfaces. These should all be paint free.
  • Work areas should be swept and counters wiped down. All construction projects create dust. We suggest utilizing the services of a professional cleaning company after a construction project.

Care Instructions for your new paint project.

  • Do not wash your newly painted surfaces for at least 30 days as latex paint coatings normally take approximately 30 days to fully cure. Avoid direct contact with your hands during this time frame, instead using pulls or handles.
  • If the inside of your cabinets are painted, wait a minimum of 3 days before placing items back inside your cabinets.
  • Once cured, use a warm damp cloth utilizing a small amount of soap to gently wash away dirt and grime, and rinse thoroughly.
  • Do not use degreaser or harsh cleaning chemicals.
  • Refer to the coating manufacturer’s care instructions for additional information.

Thank you and please let us know if you have any questions!
